Notes From the Winemaker - November 12th, 2012

For those who really wish to extract the essence of Barboursville from their visit to our Tasting Room or to our Palladio Restaurant, there's no doubt that an overnight in our historic landscape, itself, affords a context which will never be forgotten. I'm writing to inform you of a last-minute inspiration, to extend this opportunity into the first quarter of next year, on an especially attractive basis.

With the wines sustaining the regard of critics, world-wide, and Chef Melissa Hart's cuisine being cited with admiration in the latest Wine Spectator, we don't forget that travel writers from The Washington Post to Travel & Leisure have lauded our accommodations as among the most desirable within the Virginia Piedmont.

From now through March 15, 2013, therefore, we are reducing the rates for all accommodations by 50 percent on Fridays, for those who will dine at Palladio that evening. Awakening in one of our suites at the 1804 Inn or in the cottages as well, and enjoying a leisurely morning by the fire, furnishes that serenity which is the only proper frame for the flavors of our passion for food and wine.

I hope those who have not discovered Barboursville in this way will enjoy this special invitation, and for this reason, Palladio Restaurant will not undergo its traditional January closing this year. Please check for availability by telephone inquiry to our Innkeeper, Lynn Morgan (540) 832 - 5384. All accommodations, like Palladio's regularly changing menu, can be viewed online. Reservations are essential, and we encourage you to call well ahead of your desired date.

We look forward to sharing our estate with you as only such a visit can allow, and hope you will come when you can.
